Nancy,
It is not as hard as you may think. As far as I know, you basically have two options. You can get married to your U.S. fiance now and then apply for a green card yourself. Or, you can wait untill your fiance is a U.S. citizen, then get married. There are for sure an advantage of waiting to your fiance is a U.S. citizen for one practial reason; the time it takes for you to get your green card. It may be years of waiting in comparison. Except that, I strongly recommend you to get a lawyer to help you with the application forms. Good luck!

hi there, the easy way for you to get married here if you are illegal is to go to a notary public that has power to marry. i dont know where you live but in los angeles it cost about 300.00 dollars. congrats and good luck.

Good Morning ,

I need some important & urgent guidance. The situation is like this. My wife's eldest sister is U.S citizen, age 34 years, living in the USA. for the last09 years. Her husband is a doctor and very well settled in USA.

My wife, her parents, and the younger bother were sponsored in year 2002 by the elder U.S citizen sister. At that that time my wife was 19 years & not married. Recently, she has got married with me, on August 15, 2007.

In this December 2007, My wife, her patents and younger brother have received their .
(Form I-864), and the interview + medial call letters from the US embassy in Pakistan, May 2008.
Question:
We both want to immigrate to USA due to bad domestic and security situation in Pakistan. What is law and policy as per in this situation, is she still eligible for the immigration?
Can she sponsor us as well after getting her immigration? How long it will take?
One more point, its my second marriage, because my first wife had passed away 04 months back due to Cancer. I am 29 years old and working in bank as Marketing Execuitve. My wife has done her MBA. I also have a baby boy, whose age is just 15 months old, and he is iving with us. Is there any hurdle for him to come with us?
Please email and guide me soon.

Regards,
