Hello,
I am currently in the process of renewing my H1b, for which I am required to fill out DC157 as well DC156.
When working on DC157, I have noticed there are format and length limitations in certain fields of the form that prevents a user to edit the correct information if it is longer than certain amount of characters.
Specifically, sections 12 and 17 require you to edit a range of dates (i.e. 'from' date and 'to' date like "mm-dd-yyy To mm-dd-yyyy". Both sections are accepting only one date (I am restricted to enter a start or an end date not both), and the date format is mm-dd-yyyy.
This problem appears in the new DS157 with expiration date = 09/30/2008.
It does not however appear in the older version of the form with expiration date = 07/31/2005.
What should I do with this problem?
If I should only use the new version - what date should I enter (the 'end' or the 'starting' dates)?
Is it allowed to fill out this form by hand (not printed on line)?
Is it acceptable to use the older version (it is downlodable from an official USA consulate site)?
Last but not least, I have read in other forums on the internet that many have encountered this problem. I wonder why has it not been fixed up untill now?
Thanks for you support.
